Really cool GIF animations on odd peyote with increase.
There are many online resources available for beading and jewelry interests - just look at my Resources Page, check out Yahoo beading areas, or do an Alta Vista search. But almost all of them are for commercial sites attempting to sell products or supplies. To my knowledge, there are no instructional sites out there that actually teach jewelry or beading techniques. So, with admittedly limited knowledge and experience in this area, I have created a family of illustrated tutorial pages dedicated to teaching the basic techniques of beading. More advanced training must be obtained from professional teachers and classes.
A nice tutorial and diagrams for this common stitch.
A very nice primer on card beading, which is a surface beading technique.
A nice site with tips and tricks, how-tos, and more. Tips on bead stringing, photography, wire wrapping and even her own how-to book.
This is a fun, versatile, and surprisingly stong stitch. To make the necklace, you will need two colors (main and accent) of 11/0 seed beads, and about 90 or so round druks (I use anything from 3-6mm). To make the pattern easier to see, I used high contrast colors and black thread.
If you're an afficionado of filet crochet patterns as I am, you'll recognize the similarity between filet beading and filet crochet. In fact, they're worked similarly
Ndebele Stitch: This is a fun, strong stitch that looks more difficult than it truly is. Any size bead can be used. Herringbone is started using a foundation that is made up of groups of four beads. Even or odd numbers of groups can be used, but all groups must contain 4 beads.
This page contains information on pearl types, cultivation, history, knotting, and other topics. All you want to know - possibly more!
A simple but effective technique for knotting pearls.
Right Angle Weave (I'll call it RAW from here on) is a wonderful weave. It's name describes it - all the beads are at right angles to each other. There are 2 methods - single needle and double needle. These instructions are for single needle.
I wanted to do the Russian wave design and the only directions
I had used two needles to construct the circles.
Here is the way did them with one needle.
Definitions, explanations, and examples of various beading techniques.
A sprial stitch cookbook, or idea gallery with a number of ideas and variations.
The spiral stitch is one of the most versatile stitches I've found. There are so many variations you can use that make it look different every time! It's also a very easy stitch to learn, and works up into a nice strong piece. Wear it plain, or embellish to your heart's content!
Great illustrated instructions for various peyote stitches, flat, odd, even, tubular, and more. Two needles, twisted fringe, and spiral rope.
A simple classroom tutorial on the netting technique.
